It was a warm evening on the beach in Mexico. My partner and I had each other, yet we felt somewhat lonely as visitors. We chose a place that opened its fourth wall to the beach so that we could connect with other people. The restaurant had extended tables out to the sand and the water. The faint scent of fresh flowers mixed with the sea and the summer as we ordered drinks gave us a gentle push to look out for company. A wandering band of musicians came by the table and asked if we wanted a song. ‘Besame Mucho’ was the choice and they enjoyed singing and playing as we could see the connection in each of their eyes.
